Hi Elise-
Many thanks for doing the Blog. It’s really exciting, and along with the excellent photos, gives us a great sense of what you are up to in Moldova. I’m delighted for you that you are there and having such a good time. The good time comes from learning and understanding a culture, and from utilizing your opportunities to be really useful to those orphans, and I’m sure others.
And what a bizarre combination of elements! I read somewhere that it is the poorest country in Europe- only $2500 GDP per capita, terribly vulnerable to energy costs since apparently all their energy has to be imported, mostly I suppose from Russia, and a communist majority in a parliamentarian government to boot! I also seem to remember that Voronin is a reasonable man doing a good job. Also excellent soil and a moderate climate, so a productive agriculture.
But what a wonderful opportunity for you to explore the effects of so many variants of international relations and politics first hand! I’m eager to hear more of your views and experiences, and to seeing more photos.
Grandpa Ed
I love all your photos!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETIE!!!!! Miss you so very much!!!
